Pumpkin Picking

On Saturday, we loaded up (babies come with way too much stuff) and headed out to the pumpkin patch to pick out Logan’s first ever pumpkin. He slept through most of the pumpkin picking madness. Remind me never to go to a pumpkin farm a week before Halloween. At least this kid could sleep through anything in the wrap.

Logan woke up long enough to take a picture with his pumpkin that Mr. Crafty Nest picked out – he wasn’t too impressed. His expression cracks me up. I don’t think he appreciated us making fun of his pumpkin being the same size of his head. I’m thinking that this is the start of a new tradition – picking a pumpkin based on his head circumference. Some people make caramel apples with their children, we get out the tape measure to find a pumpkin. Totally normal.

Last year at this time, I remember feeling envious of the plethora of pumpkin patch pics circulating around facebook. Envious that they had babies to pick out pumpkins for. Last year at this time, I remember feeling like it just wasn’t going to happen for us. We were being poked and prodded to figure out why we couldn’t make a baby to pick out a pumpkin for. I can’t believe how distant that all seems now. I can’t believe that we have a little guy and we get to go pumpkin picking and make all of those memories that I was looking forward to. You better believe that there were pumpkin patch pics posted on facebook.
