Oh Anthropologie, how I love thee…but not so much your prices. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would buy this and this and this. But for now, I will just have to put my crafty talents to good use and make my own anthro knockoffs. I’ve had their Tassau Earrings bookmarked for quite some time, but for $50 (on sale for $30) I thought I could make my own version. My version cost me $4, the amount I spent on the suede lace. I had all of the other materials in my craft supply stash. They were easy to make and I thought they came out super cute, if I do say so myself!
Materials
Suede Lace
Earwire Pair
Jumpring Pair
Scissors
Jewelry Pliers
Hot Glue Gun
Directions
Step 1: Cut the lace suede into strips (4, 4 1/2, and 5 inches long), cutting the end at an angle. You will need 2 strips of each length.
Step 2: Thread a set of 3 suede strands (4, 4 1/2, 5 inches long) into a jump ring. I threaded the shortest strand first and the longest strand last, but it really doesn’t matter what order you place them in. Fold the suede strands in half, with the jump ring in the middle.
Step 3: Wrap a separate piece of suede lace around the entire bunch of strands, right below the jump ring. Secure with hot glue.
(yup, I chopped off my hair and donated 10 inches to locks of love)
