For the next 22 days I will be posting about something I’m thankful for. I hope you’ll join me in remembering what this season is really about. Whether you want to blog about 22 things you’re thankful for in a single post or do 22 separate posts, it all works. Today, I’m thankful for my Nani and Pampi (that’s what I call my paternal grandparents). Today is actually my Nani’s birthday, so perfect timing to let her know that I’m thankful for her. Growing up, my Nani and Pampi were the ones who picked me up from school every day and I’m grateful for those memories.
My Pampi taught me to respect every living creature, down to the smallest little ant. I’m not so sure my mom was so appreciative of this lesson when she found me feeding the ants in our backyard sugar. This is something that I hope to instill in Logan.
I loved my after school conversations with Nani, ranging from politics to MTV (yup, she’s a pretty cool grandma). I appreciate that she never talked down to me just because I was a child. She taught me that my opinion mattered.
Both taught me about the importance of family and I’m so grateful to have them in my life.

You are so fortunate to have your grandparents still in your life – and to have been able to live near them growing up!
I’m so glad you still have your grandparents in your life. I lost my last grandparent this past summer, and every time now that my son interacts with HIS grandparents, I remember all the great times I had with mine. It’s a little bitter sweet.
