If you look at those paint swatches long enough, they all start looking the same. After much deliberation, I think I have finally chosen a paint color. I’m going with Dunn-Edwards Rose Water and praying it will be a very subtle pink and not like pepto-bismol threw up all over the room. Pinks and greys are tough colors to pick and of course what colors do I decide to paint my kids’ rooms? Pinks and Greys.
Once the paint dries, I plan on stenciling an accent wall. The crib will sit in front of this wall and I’ll probably do the stenciling in a white shade. The problem is that I can’t decide which stencil I want to use. HELP! You can find my idea board for the room HERE. Here’s a reminder of what our bedding looks like, the crib will be a white Jenny Lind. I’m thinking the Acacia stencil goes best with the bedding choice and modern/feminine design. The leaves won’t be as bold in the photo, they’ll be in a subtle white shade. What do you think?

I also really love the Charlotte stencil, but is it too shabby chic for my space? The room is supposed to be vintage chic, whatever that means at this point. It might just be perfect for a rug though. Maybe I skip the stenciling on the wall and stencil a rug? Or there is always trusty chevron that goes with any modern design, but I really wanted to stay away from heavy chevron. Ack, I’m second guessing myself.

I think all of the stencils are very nice. I will say however that the Acacia might also make it too much of the pattern that is so similar to the bedding. Seeing as the stencil would be all over the same wall as the bedding. Would it concentrate the design too much to one part of the room? I think part of it might also be that all of the stencil sample pictures have a stronger background color than what you would be working with. They all have more contrast than you are planning, so it will definitely change the overall effect.
I do also like the stenciled rug idea.

Ack! I know, it’s so hard to tell how the design will come out based on these photos. Decisions, decisions…
Otherwise, I do like the Zagora stencil. It is slightly larger in scale and still nicely simple. It might also work nicely with the vintage chic idea.

Oh I love that version of chevron! I think it’s “too modern” for the nursery, but I would love it in another area of my home…maybe I’ll do a laundry room makeover too 😉

I have to say, I’m a huge fan of the Casablanca! It’s very modern, but still feminine. You have a tough choice on your hands!
I really think the Acacia would look great, especially if it is in a subtle white. I love the look you are going for, so cute. I am redoing my son’s room and picking out paint is so hard! There are so many shades of blue!! It can be overwhelming, I’m glad you were able to narrow down your color choice.
Can’t wait to see the finished room!

I hear you about all the pinks looking the same after looking at them long enough. I had the same problem when we painted our nursery. As far as the stencils go, I love the Fuji. It’s a really cool pattern.
