My dear friend Nicole of Petal Wishes hosted a baby shower in my honor last month and I’m super excited to finally blog about it. If you saw her daughters’ Cowgirl Party on my blog, you already know that she knows how to throw a good party. She used my nursery theme, You Are My Sunshine, as the shower theme and every last detail was perfect. I felt so incredibly lucky to have such an amazing friend that would put that much time and effort into a party for me. Now on to the details before I start tearing up again (dang pregnancy hormones).

Pear Tree Greetings, my go-to stationary company, supplied the gorgeous invitations. Nicole picked the “Welcoming Color Block” baby shower invitations and was able to customize the colors and wording to fit with the theme of the party. Nicole embellished the invites with a simple ruffled pink ribbon at the bottom, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a photo of them dolled up. I’m in love with these invites and I’m already looking at baby girl announcements.

My amazing hostess greeted guests with a Mimosa bar, complete with rock candy stirs, berries and different flavored juices. She also had sparkling pink lemonade and non-alcoholic champagne for those of us who don’t (or can’t at the moment) drink. Such a perfect way to get a party started and encourage mingling.

The decor was breathtaking. Nicole found the white lace pots at Ikea and filled them with yellow flowers as the centerpieces. She spray painted soup cans in the party colors and planted miniature pink flowers in them as party favors for the guests to take home. She covered mason jars with pink and yellow balloons to give them a non-painted permanent look. Notice how the pretty paper floral straws and tablecloth perfectly match each other? Love little details like that! Individual bags of chips and salsa, clipped shut with a cute sun cutout and miniature painted clothespin, awaited guests at their place setting.

I’m a huge fan of themed bars or stations at parties and loved that Nicole incorporated so many fun stations at my party! There was a yogurt bar, complete with berries, granola and other mix ins. For the main course, guests got to make their own burritos at a burrito bar with lots of yummy toppings and fillings. There were also tons of desserts from donuts to strawberry shortcake muffins to a yummy cake. My mom crafted that gorgeous flower and baby out of fondant for the cake topper. The baby in my belly approved of the food!

One of my most favorite details from the party was the headband station. Guests each made a headband for baby and tagged them with their names. I was later able to pick my favorite headband and the guest who made it won a prize. I just love that my baby has tons of new headbands ready to wear made by some of my favorite people.

Another favorite detail from the party was having Petal Wishes there. Guests were able to write their wishes for baby on a petal, later forming flowers in a hangable display frame. Nicole was sneaky enough to get my husband and son to sign a petal before the party. Such a thoughtful way to remember the day by! I can’t wait to read the petals to my baby girl once she arrives.

Baby girl received so many great gifts and tons (and tons and tons) and pink clothes! Her closet is out of control, but a girl can never have too many clothes, right? As I was opening gifts, guests received miniature plastic babies frozen in ice cubes and they were instructed to “break the ice” by only touching the cup the ice cube was in – naturally, how I plan on having this baby lol. I wish I would have snapped a few photos of guests swirling around their ice cube babies!

Thank you again to Nicole, the bestest friend a gal could ask for, for throwing me the most beautiful shower!

  1. What a beautiful shower! If we’re having another girl I’m definitely doing a headband making station! And seriously, you can never have too many baby clothes. Congrats!
