One of the nicest things that you could possibly do for a family with a newborn is to feed them. Those first couple weeks are tough and it’s so helpful to have a friend bring you a meal. It’s one less thing off of the family’s already chaotic plate and such a thoughtful gesture. I also try to have a few meals ready to go in my freezer for those newborn days.
How does it work you ask? Well, you basically decide ahead of time what meals you would like to make off of their menu. Dream Dinners does the shopping and prep work for you. When you get to a Dream Dinners location, they’ll have everything ready to go for you to assemble your meals. They provide simple instructions on how to package your meals and everything is color coded, making this process super easy for even the most inexperienced chef.
After you make each meal, they typically have you place it in a large freezer bag with instructions on how to cook it once you get home. I decided to make chicken enchiladas, market salmon with corn medley, jambalaya and chicken parmesan for my family. We’ve sampled the chicken enchiladas and the chicken parmesan so far and both were delish! Even my 3 year old loved them and we can’t wait to eat the rest of our meals, which are happily sitting in my freezer. No shopping. No prep work. An easy meal that I just need to stick in the oven. I’d call that a major win!
