Once upon a time I had a craft room, it had rows and rows of shelving, a large workspace, a desk, and a closet for even more storage, boy was is awesome! Unfortunately, my craft room is no more for the time being and I have to admit it hasn’t been the easiest transition for me. I love crafting but find that since my supplies weren’t easy to get to I wasn’t crafting as often as I wanted. So I decided it was time to turn a small cabinet I had into a craft space that was pretty as well as functional.

Using a bunch of things I already had on hand and a handy can of chalkboard paint I chalk-boarded all the things to give them a clean and consistent look. Next, I gathered a bunch of mason jars and separated my washi by color family. A girl can’t be that far from her washi! Behind the jars on the top shelf I stored my paper cutters because that is definitely something I use on the regular for party decorations.

I measured out the shelf heights by starting with how much room I needed to stand my card stock up. Next to those I placed my twine and a circle puncher and on the other side I put mod podge, glue and scissors. For the bottom shelf, I put my silhouette portrait in the back and the four planters with loose supplies that I commonly use in them. Colored pens/markers, sponge brushes, hot glue gun and glue sticks, and other random supplies.

The basket on top is for any current craft projects and loose things such as power cords and cutting mats. This craft setup has worked out really well for me. All the supplies I use on the regulars are so much handier now. This is a great solution to not being able to have a full sized crafting space.
