(craft tutorial) diy capri sun bunting flags & crate stand

Summer is here and one of my favorite summer pastimes from my childhood is setting up a lemonade stand outside to make a couple extra dollars. This summer, we’ve put a little twist to my son’s traditional lemonade stand. We’ll be setting up a Capri Sun stand and RAOKing (random act of kindness) it with free Capri Sun Juice Drinks for our neighbors! Of course, we had to taste test a few pouches ourselves first (someone had to do it) and we upcycled the empty pouches into bunting flags that we used to decorate the Capri Sun stand with. Of course, I’m giving you all the details on how to make your own DIY Capri Sun crate stand and bunting flags. Flip the flags to the silver side to use for a robot party or even decor in your kiddo’s room.

Capri Sun Stand Materials

2 Unfinished Wood Crates (12.5 x 18 x 9 3/8 inches)
2 48 inch Long Boards (1 1/2 x 3/4 inches thick)
4 16.4 inch Support Boards (1 1/2 x 3/4 inches thick)
1 27 x 9 inch Board (3/4 thick)
Nails & Hammer
White Exterior Paint (quarter gallon)
Chalkboard Spray Paint
Green Spray Paint
White Frame (8 1/2 x 11 inches)
Paint Brush
Painters Tape

Capri Sun Stand Directions:

Nail the 2 crates together, placing the 4 16.5 inch support boards inside the crafts in the 4 front corners. Nail the 48 inch boards to the sides of the crate. Nail the 27 x 9 inch board in front of the 48 inch long boards. Use painters tape and trash bags to cover around the 27 x 9 inch top board and spray paint with chalkboard paint. You could also spray paint this board before attaching it to the posts. Allow to dry and remove tape/wrapping. Paint the remaining stand using white exterior paint. Once dry, you can decorate the stand with Capri Sun bunting flags, tissue paper tassels and fresh fruit as shown in the photo below.  Capri Sun Bunting Materials:

14 Capri Sun Pouches (empty and clean)
Scissors
Marker
Hole Punch
String
Hot Glue Gun

Capri Sun Bunting Directions: Cut a triangle shape into one of the Capri Sun pouches to use as a template for the bunting flags. Trace the template onto 13 other pouches and cut around the outline. Punch 2 holes at the top of the flags and string a string through the holes. You may need to hot glue the flag flaps together if they start curling or coming apart. Hang the bunting flags on the Capri Sun Stand!
