(review) step2 home depot big builders pro workshop

I am a Step2 Ambassador and am partnering with Step2 for the following review. I received a product in exchange for my review and honest opinion.

The Step2 Home Depot Big Builders Pro Workshop (sold exclusively at Toys “R” Us) just so happened to arrive the day before my trip to The Step2 Company’s headquarters in Ohio, which made for a good distraction while I was away. If you have a mini DIY’er, this toy is a must have! My 4 year old loves going to the free Home Depot Kids Workshops every month (which is where his apron came from), so this was right up his alley. Dare I say that my kids like this toy more than their play kitchen! I love how interactive and imaginative this workshop is.

The workshop comes with moveable storage bins and hooks, an electronic drill, overhead work light, a mechanical table saw, tons of tools and so much more. Many of the tools simulate real tools, which is a lot of fun! My favorite accessory that comes with the workshop is the color changing birdhouse. After building the faux wood birdhouse, you can spray it with water and watch it turn blue. You can also pretend to paint with water and watch the birdhouse change color. After the house dries, it magically turns back to white. Logan could play with this all day, it’s very cool! He also loves the electronic drill because it can fit into the screws and actually turn them. Hours of fun and perfect indoors or out!

You can watch Logan demonstrate spraying the birdhouse with “paint” here:

Disclaimer: The Home Depot Big Builders Pro Workshop is for children ages 3 and up. My 1 year old is closely supervised at all times around this toy, as there are little pieces.
