Christmas: Stovetop Potpourri Gift Idea

stove top potpourri holiday gift idea

This year I made homemade stovetop potpourri for my neighbors and received so many compliments. The combined scent of orange, cranberry, cloves, rosemary and cinnamon is divine! It smells like Christmas in a pot and makes the best gift. Give as party favors to your guests or make a batch for the hostess. Not only is this an easy gift to make, it makes for a thoughtful last minute gift too. Gather your ingredients while you’re at the grocery store, quickly place them in a bag and you have a great handmade gift to give!

1 orange
1 cup cranberries
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1-3 sprigs of rosemary
3 cinnamon sticks

Don’t forget to save a batch for yourself, especially if you are having guests over! Ten minutes before your guests arrive or when you want your house to smell good, slice the orange and place the ingredients in a pot and add 2 cups of water. Heat over low heat, adding water when necessary. Don’t let the water get low and make sure to keep an eye on your pot when on a hot stove.
