Party: 40th Birthday Cake Smash Photo Shoot

40th Birthday Cake Smash copy

I’m loving the fun new trend of cake smashes for adults! My friend Mel recently turned 40 and I was so excited when she agreed to do a cake smash. Our friend Lynette of Hovering Heart Photography documented the fun at White Tank Mountains, near Phoenix, AZ. Those giant saguaros are awesome and pretty perfect for the desert loving birthday girl. The birthday board, which lists all of Mel’s favorite things and stats, was made using a template from squijoo.com and mounted on a foam board. I crafted up the tulle tutu, simply by tying strips of tulle on a ribbon. The cake smash wouldn’t be complete without a gold crown, balloons and pearl strands. They rocked this cake smash shoot and doesn’t the birthday girl make 40 look fabulous?! I hope to celebrate my 40th someday with cake smashed all over my face!
