Disney: #ThorRagnarokEvent Red Carpet Experience

I received an all expense paid trip from Disney to attend the #ThorRagnarokEvent. The opinions expressed here are my own and I received no monetary compensation.

After a whirlwind few days at the #ThorRagnarokEvent, I’m still pinching myself. I mean, I got to hang out in the same vicinity as Chris Hemsworth and call it my job! I’m so grateful for these opportunities. When I received the invitation to attend the THOR: RAGNAROK Premiere, Jackie of Jackie Style offered me her image consulting services. I immediately took her up on the offer, because dress shopping totally stresses me out. I’m a mom who lives in yoga pants, so red carpet attire is out of my realm of expertise. I was thankful to have the help of a professional for this special occasion. 

I gave Jackie 3 hours to find the perfect dress, which is a near impossible task for my picky self. Shopping with me came with many requirements (some sort of sleeve, not too short, nothing form fitting, not super fancy, etc.) and Jackie handled it like the pro she is. She used her fashion ninja skills to hunt down a brand that I liked, but couldn’t find in my size. She found me not one, but TWO dresses that I loved. With only 3 minutes left, before I had to rush to the other side of town for school pickup, she found the perfect accessories. Jackie was amazing! I used my grandma’s vintage clutch and went with comfy flats because of a poorly timed broken toe.

I stepped on the red carpet feeling beautiful and received many compliments on my dress. I’ve walked the red carpet before at The Jungle Book premiere, so I was slightly more prepped this time around for the chaotic nature of these events. It’s sensory overload with the camera flashes, press vying for interviews and paparazzi yelling for the talent’s attention. There’s an exciting energy in the air that just adds to the adrenaline. We spotted Mark Ruffalo, the beautiful Cate Blanchett and Tom Hiddleston giving interviews on the carpet. Chris Hemsworth was there with Elsa Pataky, his gorgeous wife.

It was a quick 10 minute walk on the red carpet to the El Capitan Theater, where they locked up our phones in a special pouch that they unlocked after the movie. They didn’t want anyone live streaming the movie, like Mark Ruffalo accidentally did during his Instagram Live (oops lol!). I was front and center for the show, with the other Thor Ragnarok bloggers, and shook Mark’s hand as he walked off stage. You guys, I shook HULK’S hand! We were offered popcorn and drinks, because even fancy people eat popcorn at the movie theater.

The movie was AMAZING and I can’t wait to see it again (stay tuned for my review), but seeing it WITH the talent from the film was something I’ll never forget. With every actor that appeared on the screen, applause would erupt in the theater for that person. This was the first time seeing the completed movie for many of the actors. Everyone stayed through the credits and the applause continued. Once we walked out of the premiere, I literally almost ran into Chris Hemsworth. Liam Hemsworth, who has a cameo in the movie, and Miley Cyrus were also nearby. If you squint really hard, you can spot me and the other #ThorRagnarok bloggers in the photo below.

What a magical, pixie dust filled night that I’ll never forget! If I didn’t have photo proof of me on the red carpet, I would have thought it was just a really great dream. It wouldn’t be the first time that the Hemsworth brothers made an appearance in my dreams. Alas, my night on the red carpet came to an end and I turned back into a yoga pant wearing pumpkin.
