A week without caffeine, beware.
I had gone a good 6 months without caffeine while I was doing my mama bootcamp and I felt great, but I slowly went back to it. I thought I could drink it in moderation, but coffee doesn’t come in moderate amounts when it comes to raising a toddler. The insomnia is back with a vengeance and I’m getting horrible caffeine headaches, so it needs to go. The first
week month is the worst and I really just want a heavily caffeinated cup of something at the moment, but I know I’ll feel so much better without it. During the 6 months off caffeine, I actually had MORE energy and felt healthier without it. Wish me luck, I’ll need it…especially with it being pumpkin spice latte time of year.
Of course, Logan had to catch who knows what kind of germs and infected our entire household this weekend. What a week to give up coffee! My poor little guy was up at 11:30pm last night, right when my head barely hit the pillow. Ugh. Needless to say, I didn’t make it to the gym at all this past weekend and I’m taking the beginning of the week off too. Mama needs to get better and catch up on sleep. I do have some good news though. Logan and I are trying out Stroller Strides, exercise classes specifically for moms and their kiddos. We went twice last week and so far so good! I love being able to get a workout in during the morning (as opposed to after 8pm at night) and Logan seems to enjoy watching his mama “cise” (that’s exercise in toddler language).
As far as food goes, I actually did really well sticking to my Nutrisystem meal plan last week. The weekends kill me though. We’re on the go on weekends and it’s hard to plan for meals. Plus, I want to be able to eat whatever the hubby is eating, which usually isn’t healthy. I need to work on it. Any suggestions for me?
