(20 crafty days of christmas) reindeer cake pops

November 30, 2012 By Vanessa 4 Comments

I’ve been channeling my inner Bakerella with these reindeer cake pops. These aren’t nearly as amazing as Bakerella’s reindeer cake pops, but my friends were still impressed with my cake popping skills. These edible Rudolphs’ are easy to make and super cute, if I do say so myself. Make them for a holiday gathering or spread a little festivity throughout your neighborhood. Everyone is sure to love these guys! If you  are looking for more detailed photo instructions on how to make a cake pop, check out my strawberry cake pop tutorial.

Materials:

Box of Vanilla Cake

Red Icing

Red Food Dye

Chocolate Candy Melts

Lollipop Sticks

Mini Pretzels

Wilton Candy Eyes

Red Sixlets

Instructions:

Bake the cake according the box, mixing in red food dye until you get your desired shade of red. Once the cake cools, crumble it up and mix with red icing. Place in the refrigerator overnight to chill. Once chilled, roll into small balls. Melt chocolate candy melts according to package and dip the top of the lollipop sticks in the chocolate before sticking in the cake balls. Dip the entire cake ball, while on the lollipop stick, into the chocolate to coat it. Gently tap off excess chocolate. First, place the antennas on the cake pop, which are halved mini pretzels. Hold until the chocolate is somewhat dry and the pretzels no longer move. Next, dip the back of the candy eyes and red sixlet nose in chocolate and place on the cake pop. Enjoy!

So cute! Thanks for the links to the treats! I’ve been wanting some ideas to make for co workers and such. I bet I can find something there! Those reindeer are too cute to eat 🙂
