The Blogiversary celebration continues! Today we’re partying with DecoArt and their awesome craft supplies. I used their black acrylic paint to spiffy up a boring welcome mat I found at Ikea. This project is super easy and the end result is a beautifully unique welcome mat. I’m so in love with my new mat, I already have plans to make one for our back door! Scroll all the way down to enter DecoArt’s giveaway, their mixed media kit looks like a ton of fun! Don’t forget to stop back tomorrow, I have one last giveaway for you that you won’t want to miss.

Materials

Welcome Mat (I found mine at Ikea)
Deco Art Acrylic Paint
Sponge Brush
Adhesive Vinyl
Exacto Knife or Cutting Machine (I used a Silhouette machine)
Painters Tape

Instructions

Cut a “hello” stencil out of adhesive vinyl using a cutting machine, such as a Silhouette, or an exacto knife. Remove the backing off of the vinyl and stick to the bottom corner of the welcome mat. You may want to reinforce the adhesive with painters tape around the vinyl stencil. Using a sponge brush, dab acrylic paint onto the stencil. You will find that the vinyl doesn’t stick to the mat very well, so brush inward or dab in up and down motions so you don’t get paint underneath the stencil. You will need to use several coats of pain in order to completely fill the mat’s nooks and crannies. Allow to completely dry before removing the stencil.

Buy It: Visit DecoArt to purchase these products. A purchase is not necessary to enter the giveaway.

Win It: DecoArt is giving away a mixed media kit (as shown in the photo below). This giveaway is open to U.S. residents. This is a Rafflecopter giveaway, you must open up the post for the widget to appear. The first entry is mandatory, the rest are extra ways to enter. Remember to leave an email address and good luck!
