Remember the vintage French provincial furniture I thrifted awhile back for the nursery? It underwent a makeover, Annie Sloan chalk paint style, and I’m so happy with the results! I love, love, puffy heart, love this paint (no, I’m not getting paid to say this). Don’t confuse chalk paint with chalkBOARD paint. Annie Sloan chalk paint has matte finish that looks like chalk, but you won’t be able to write on it like a chalkboard. The best thing about this paint? NO sanding, NO priming…on laminate! I’m serious, no prep work required. I gave the dresser a good cleaning and went to town with the Annie Sloan paint brush. After 3ish coats, I simply painted on the Annie Sloan wax and gave it a little buffing. Another huge plus of this paint is that it is fume-less. I was able to paint the dresser in the nursery at 25ish weeks pregnant without working about nasty fumes. Totally beats having to sand, prime and paint it in a hot garage!
If you are in the Phoenix area, get yourself on over to Audrey’s off of Cave Creek for some chalk paint. I spent over an hour there chatting with the super sweet owner about chalk paint. She helped me come up with just the right mix of colors to make the coral color you see and gave me a few tips for painting with chalk paint. She even let me try out the Annie Sloan brush on one of the furniture pieces she was re-doing. Audrey’s offers chalk paint classes, but I think you’ll find that this paint is user-friendly enough that you can just pick up a brush and go. I purchased the hardware online at D. Lawless Hardware and I just love how dainty and feminine the crystal knobs make this dresser look.
Coral Chalk Paint = 32oz Scandinavian pink, 4oz Barcelona orange + 1/4 cup pure white

Wow! I love the color, and changing up the drawer placement makes such a big difference. I had that style furniture as a kid.
