I had a little mini meltdown the morning of my maternity photos because I just felt big and not so pretty. I was 36 weeks pregnant, my feet were double their normal size and my fingers were too swollen to wear my wedding rings. I almost chickened out of taking photos because who wants to be photographed at their highest weight ever?! I knew Jen, my awesome photog, would work her magic (and hopefully photoshop out my double chins), but I still debated canceling the shoot.
I’m so glad I didn’t cancel. Amelia has only been outside my belly for 2 weeks and I already miss feeling her movements inside of me. This is likely my last pregnancy and I’m so happy to have these photos to remind me of that amazing time.
These photos bring back memories of how incredible my body is – even at its highest weight. My body was able to help create a tiny little miracle, again.
These photos bring back memories of us as a family of 3, anxiously awaiting Amelia’s arrival, and of Logan kissing his baby sister in my belly each morning.
These photos bring back memories of tiny hiccups and kicks in my belly. They bring back memories of my body changing to make room for the start of a new life.
Instead of insecurities, all I see is a beautiful moment in time that I’m so happy to have captured.
