(diy tutorial) under the sea tulle headband

September 18, 2013 By Vanessa 1 Comment

“Under the sea, darling it’s better, down where it’s wetter, take it from me…”

You can’t have an Under The Sea themed party without a fancy tulle headband! I’ve been having a blast planning a Little Mermaid themed party for my kiddos and I can’t wait to blog about the fun we’ve had, but in the meantime grab yourself some tulle and start crafting (singing optional). These sea shell hair accessories would make perfect party favors for your little guests! While you’re at it, craft up some edible oyster pearl cookies for your guests as well.

Materials

purple tulle

headband

purple felt

sea shell

glue gun

scissors

pom pom maker

Instructions

Step 1: Using a pom pom maker (or the old fashion fork method), make a pom pom out of tulle.

Step 2: Flatten the back of the pom pom and hot glue the headband to the tulle, sandwiching the headband between 2 circles of felt.

Step 3: Hot glue a sea shell to the front of the tulle pom pom.

Step 4: Place on bebe and proceed to sing “Under The Sea” on repeat.

I'm Vanessa and it's my mission in life to spread my love of hot glue guns and glitter to others. I suffer from craft ADHD, regularly working on at least 10 projects at the same time and my craft room looks like a tornado hit it. My first craft book, Party in a Jar, was published in 2014. I look forward to crafting with you!

This is so adorable!! I’ve never made pom poms before so I’ll have to look up the fork method.
