(20 crafty days of halloween) pumpkin patch kid craft

October 13, 2013 By Vanessa 1 Comment

I’m very excited and honored to be sharing on See Vanessa Craft today!

We had a lot of fun creating these starry night pumpkin patch decorations from simple materials.

The material needed:

-white tag board cut up into rectangles (I made mine the length of 8 popsicle sticks but you can make them as small or as large as you desire)

-glue

-cute Halloween ribbon

-pumpkin buttons (found at craft stores like Michaels- *Can also use foam pumpkins)

-Halloween foam stickers

-green colored popsicle sticks

-silver glitter.

First I set out the materials ahead of time and demonstrated the first step in how to glue together the popsicle sticks.

To make it easy for little fingers I like to use q-tips for spreading the glue. After they spread the glue they lined up the popsicle sticks one by one pressing them on to the paper.

They then placed the moon and bat foam stickers at the top and glued on the button pumpkins into “the patch” anyway they wanted. My girls are 3 and 5 and they loved working with different textured art materials like the plastic buttons, the soft foam stickers, and the wooden popsicle sticks!

The last step was adding the glitter at the top to represent the stars, punching a hole at the top and tying the ribbon.

Now it’s set to place on a door handle, hang from the fireplace, or wherever you choose to display it!

Very simple but super fun for little hands to create!

Cute craft. I love working with popsicle sticks. We just made some frightful Halloween crafts with them. And the dyed sticks are the best!
