Graduation ceremonies are just around the corner and I’m sharing some easy party ideas. I fell in love with the gold sequin graduation invitations from Pear Tree Greetings and started planning from there. Picking a color scheme or specific theme, like gold sequins, will help you narrow down your decor.
My largest splurge for any party are typically the linens, because they are the largest pop of color that you’ll be giving your party. It’s an easy way to to add pizzazz and something I don’t skimp on. If you don’t have the budget for specialty linens on every single table, focus on the dessert table. The gold sequin tablecloth for this party came from Sparkle Soiree and it’s pretty fabulous! I’m already starting to plan my next gold party, just so I can use this tablecloth again soon!
For the backdrop, I simply put up black seamless paper behind the dessert table. You can find it at just about any craft store or online. The 2015, covered in gold sequins, came from Chasing Bliss Design. I wish you could see these numbers in person, they are amazing and help liven up the plain black backdrop. You could also add these sparkly numbers to your gift table or around the food to help decorate those areas. Chasing Bliss Design also sent those fabulous gold glittery drink stirs.
Once you have your linens and backdrop, let’s talk paper goods. I used matching gold sequin photo stickers, cupcake flags (that I put on straws instead) and a grad banner to add in those special touches, all from Pear Tree Greetings. Talk about EASY. Just pick your invitation and Pear Tree Greetings likely has an entire line of coordinating items to match. I attached the photo stickers to striped paper containers and added in chocolate dipped fortune cookies. The photos of the young lady, who is graduating this year, is by Hovering Heart Photography.
For desserts, I like to keep things simple or outsource so I’m not stressing out on the day of the party. In addition to the easy chocolate dipped fortune cookies, that you could make ahead of time, I also sprayed store bought meringues with edible gold food spray. Again, so easy but still personalized to your party. The centerpiece of the party were the matching gold sequin cake pops from Roni Sugar Creations. I sent Roni a photo of the invitations and her cake pop creations matched perfectly! They are almost too pretty to eat!
