Recipe: S’mores in a Jar

Smores Jar 4 copy

Summertime is all about spending days at the pool and nights around a fire pit, roasting marshmallows and making s’mores. Oh what wonderful childhood memories I have of roasting marshmallows while camping with my Dad. I can still smell the melting marshmallows and I remember searching high and low for the most perfect marshmallow stick. I haven’t been camping in so long and I definitely need to remedy that soon. Although, I think I might opt for cabin camping with indoor pluming and running water. Oh and a nice comfy bed. I know, I’m way too spoiled to rough it in a tent in my old age lol!

I recently introduced the joy of s’mores to my little guy and while he wasn’t as thrilled with mixing chocolate with marshmallows as I am (who isn’t?!), he was pretty excited about having permission to play with fire (supervised) and eat (plain) marshmallows. Someday I’ll get this kid to like chocolate, but it’s probably for the best that he didn’t inherit my sweet tooth. S’mores are my total weakness and if you love them as much as I do, you’ll love this s’more in a jar dessert. It’s dangerously delicious and a fun treat for any summer party.

1 pint wide mouth jar

3 graham cracker squares (broken into pieces)

1/3 cup chocolate pudding

1 chocolate bar (broken into pieces)

1/2 cup mini marshmallows

DIRECTIONS:

Layer graham cracker pieces on the bottom of the pint sized jar, topped with chocolate pudding and chocolate bar pieces. Add mini marshmallows to the top. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the marshmallows are toasted and enjoy while warm!

Either one will work, although I used cooked pudding.
