We are a week away from The Force Awakens opening in theaters (December 18th!) and I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait! As I mentioned yesterday, a few bloggers and I got together to throw one awesome, kid friendly, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS movie night party! Keep reading for all the fun party details. This is such a fun theme for a birthday party or even just a fun movie night with friends!
You can’t have a movie night without concessions and my dad, once again, thrifted the perfect cart for our “galaxy goodies”. I already shared my Chewie caramel corn recipe and popcorn bar with you. Mom Endeavors so cleverly named the candy after Star Wars characters. I love the “BB-8 Droid Parts”, which are orange and white gumballs. All of the pretty gold star garland is from Just Destiny Mag. She also took all of the photos for us!
Next to the concession stand, I covered a small round table with brown fur fabric (or Chewie fur) and we displayed our amazing Star Wars cookies by The Baked Equation there. They were a huge hit with the kids and I think the CP30 cookie was my favorite! The BB-8 drink containers are from Disneyland and I found the other droid sippers from Walmart. There’s so much Star Wars merchandise out there that made it easy to plan this party!
One of my favorite details from the party were the lightsaber party favors from A Night Owl. You’ll never guess what she made them out of, so clever! I also loved the no-sew Jedi costumes from Mom Endeavors and the kids had a blast dressing the part at the party. Give them a lightsaber and a tunic and they’ll have hours of fun! The R2D2 container that we used for the lightsabers is actually a Disneyland popcorn bucket.
As we were chatting about what kind of movie night party we wanted to plan, the idea of a drive in (or FLY IN) movie came up. All For The Boys ran with the idea and crafted up the coolest DIY cardboard star wars vehicles for the kids to sit in to watch the movie. She did an amazing job on Rey’s Speeder and the Millennium Falcon! What kid wouldn’t want to sit in their own personal ship to watch the movie?!
Of course, the one party detail that always ties everything together are the printables and Strawberry Mommycakes did a fabulous job! From the popcorn containers to the character masks and even printable movie ticket invitations, everything looked so cute! You can find all of the printables on her blog.
