My kids are pretty obsessed with Goldfish Crackers. They love them so much that we planned a goldfish themed party for my son’s 2nd birthday, complete with a Goldfish Cracker bar. For his party, I crafted up a batch of goldfish marshmallow pops and they were a huge hit! Today I’m showing you how to make something similar, but this time we’re using rice cereal treats and extra Goldfish Crackers (because fish need buddies, according to my son). Rice cereal treats appear to be the “IT” thing right now in partyland and they are so easy to make (or buy them already made!) and decorate. These would be perfect for a fishy themed party!

INGREDIENTS

Cheddar Goldfish
Rice Cereal Treats
Lollipop Sticks
Blue Chocolate Melts
White Nonpareils

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Stick lollipop sticks in the bottom of each rice cereal treat. You can use ready-made rice cereal treats or make your own. Colorful lollipop sticks can be found in the baking aisle of most craft stores.

Step 2: Melt the blue chocolate melts according to the package. I put the melts in a microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, mixing in between, until melted.

Step 3: Dip the rice cereal treats into the melted chocolate, leaving the bottom quarter un-dipped. This will be your “beach sand”. Place rice cereal treats on parchment or wax paper.

Step 4: Before the chocolate hardens, place two goldfish and four nonpareils on top of the chocolate. The nonpareils should looks like they are “bubbles” coming out of the mouths of the fish.

Step 5: Allow chocolate to harden and then enjoy!
