In an attempt to hop back on a healthy lifestyle, I’ve been starting my mornings with a green juice smoothie. It also makes me feel like a rockstar mom when the kids gobble up their kid version green juice. Here’s a little tip that I recently discovered that has made smoothie making much more doable in the mornings. Prepare “smoothie packets” with all the chopped up ingredients and freeze them. When you want to make a smoothie, you simply take out a packet, add water and throw it in the blender. Happy smoothie drinking!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup spinach
1 cup kale
2 cups cold water
1 pear
2 ribs of a celery stalk
1 banana
DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Place 1 cup kale, 1 cup spinach and 2 cups water into your Blendtec (or other high powered blender). Pulse 5 times for a few seconds until the greens are liquefied.
Step 2: Place 1 pear (chopped), 2 celery ribs (chopped) and 1 banana (peeled) into the blender and cover. On the Blendtec, press “Whole Juice” and allow to blend until finished on that setting. If you are using another high powered blender, you’ll want to pick a high speed blending option that will turn your ingredients into a smooth, liquid juice.
Step 3: Pour in a mason jar, add a fun straw and enjoy! Here’s the kid-friendly green juice recipe, it’s slightly sweeter.

I love putting spinach in my smoothies! All the benefits of the greens without the bitter taste of lettuce 🙂 Looks amazing!
