Everyone says it, but it’s true. They grow up too quickly.
The greatest advice I can give to new moms…don’t blink. You won’t want to miss anything.
Trust me, you won’t even want to miss those days that he will scream bloody murder if you do anything other than bounce up and down for hours on an exercise ball. Even those nights when all you’ve gotten is 3 hours of broken up sleep and you are expected to function like a normal person the next day.
Ok, maybe you could do without the bouncing and lack of sleep but what about that first bath. Or first toothless smile. Oh and that first tiny giggle, the best sound ever. Nope, don’t blink. Because it goes by too quickly…all of it.
It is almost bittersweet marking the milestones on the calendar. I know I have so much more to look forward to but sometimes I want to press pause or rewind. What happened to my tiny little newborn?
Another first marked on the calendar today. Logan ate his first solid food – sweet potatoes (when I say “ate”, I mean spit out/gagged/regurgitated). His face is priceless. Oh how I love this child. Next up…talking, walking, eeek! But, I’m not blinking.
