In the newborn stage I used mostly fitteds or prefolds with a diaper cover. I tried many diaper covers and my absolute favorite is the Duo Wrap by Thirsties. No, I didn’t get paid to say that (although if someone wants to pay me, feel free). Not only do they get the job done (you know, contain poop and pee) but they are also cute and colorful. I know I’m supposed to say that I cloth diaper for environmental reasons and all that jazz, but the tree hugger in me likes cute and colorful too.

Thirsties recently sent Logan and I a Duo Wrap in their Blackbird print. Isn’t this diaper cover made for me?! I have a hard time putting pants on Logan and covering up the birdie and tree cuteness! The Duo Wrap now comes in aplix or snap closures. The Duo Wrap comes in 2 sizes, size 1 fits 6-18lbs and size 2 fits 18-40lbs (Logan’s wearing a size 2 in the pic). The awesome thing about covers is you only need a handful to get you through to the next wash, even if you are using them full time like I was in the newborn stage. The leg gussets on The Duo Wrap is probably what sold me, those babies contain the poo/pee and contain it well. I’ve never once had a leak issue with a Duo Wrap.

Thirsties also sent me a Duo Hemp Prefold to review. Prefolds are by far the most economical way to cloth diaper. I became an expert prefold folder in the newborn stage, but the awesome thing about the Duo Hemp Prefold? No need for pins or a snappi, you fold the prefold in thirds and just place it in the cover. I love these for on the go diapering because a few prefolds and an extra cover don’t take up much space in the diaper bag. A plus about the Duo Hemp Prefolds is that they have a quick drying time, no need for an extra drying cycle. They are also nice and soft, which is a must when they go right up against your baby’s skin. This is such a great option for cloth diapering on a budget!

  1. Hahaha cute. THAT’S more like my baby. The last video I watched, the ltltie girl just laid nice still and looked all around, never fussed at all. Lol. One question though, did your ltltie girl get any diaper rash when you first started using cloth? My ltltie boy has a bad one. I’m changing him pretty frequently, too, and using bum cream, and letting him air out some, too!
