What is a Father’s Day Gift Guide without something for the workout enthusiast? I have the perfect gift for your buff gym rat. Bottles Up makes glass water bottles that are not only cool to look at but are healthier for you and for the environment. I recently read an article about even BPA free containers not being the healthiest for you, so when possible I try to just stick with glass. Read on to hear what Mr. Crafty Nest has to say about his new glass water bottle.
Mr. Crafty Nest’s Manly Opinion:
My wife has been searching for the perfect glass water bottle for me so I can take it with me when I work out or swim, especially when the bottle will be left out in the sun for a bit or in the car on a sunny, hot Phoenix day. Plastic bottles are a no-no in these situations, and aluminum ones tend to get way too hot for my taste. Plastic may not seem like it’s melting into your fresh drinking water, but it is at a level you can’t see, but your body can sure feel. Get a glass water bottle instead, it’s healthier!
I really love the Bottles Up take on glass water bottles for a few key reasons. I like that it’s mostly made from recycled glass. We’re pretty big on recycling in my household. Those land fills can’t keep going forever, and if I can do my part in keeping a few pounds a week from ending up in a stinky mess at the city dump, then I feel all giggly inside. Ok, that’s going a bit far, but you get my point.
I also like that it’s BPA free…BPA is NO GOOD. According to the Mayo Clinic website: “BPA stands for bisphenol A. BPA is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics and resins since the 1960s.” I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not ingest an industrial chemical. When your BPA plastic water bottle heats up enough, I have a sneaking suspicion that some of that industrial waste will find up in the water and in you.
Another cool feature is the silicone caps and rings. The rings really do provide excellent grip. I don’t plan on dropping this thing, but it’s so sturdy looking I bet it could take a nice tumble on the carpet and not even show a scratch, let alone shatter.
So go forth and take your butt to the gym, just don’t forget the glass water bottle.
