My dad is a sports fanatic, he loves them all and he’s practically a walking encyclopedia when it comes to sports facts. I was brought up collecting baseball cards and going to basketball games. The Superbowl was almost as big as Christmas in my home. My dad loves sports so much that he has an entire room, which we call the “Sports Room”, dedicated to sports memorabilia. I’m not joking. The room has posters, autographed baseballs, and sports figurines. It even a life size Shaquille O’Neal cutout.

Calling my dad a sports fanatic is an understatement, which is why I have been looking forward to featuring Lil’ Teammates during the Father’s Day Gift Guide. These figurines would make the perfect gift for any sports fanatic, old or young. Lil’ Teammates sent us a box full of Lil’ Teammates to review of all of our favorite teams: Cardinals, UT Longhorns, Suns, Diamondbacks, Buffalo Sabres, LA Dodgers (this one will be going to my dad) and The Ref. They are all so cute, I’m allowed to call sports figurines cute right?

Mr. Crafty Nest’s Manly Opinion:

These figurines are super cool! They are sculpted with representations of the actual team uniforms and hats/helmets have authentic logos as well. If you’re familiar with anime, you’ll know what the term “super deformed” means. All that means is that the character has a big head on a smaller body. These lil’ guys are built in that style, but with an American flavor on the facial expressions, kind of like Bratz for boys, without the collagen lips and buckets of makeup, LOL!

Once Baby Crafty Nest reaches 3 years old, this just might be his first of many collections. They will be a fun way to introduce sports into his life, and look good doing it. These will look great on his wall shelf. Now to decide if I’m going to steer him to open these bad boys up, or keep them sealed in the blister packs. I was the type of kid to keep collections of GI Joes sealed and mint. Not your typical kid. I’m not sure if that was totally healthy, so maybe Baby Crafty will be creating a football game on his bedroom floor with the Cardinals Quarterback passing the football to the Suns Playmaker, go Phoenix!
