In those first few weeks I remember swaddling Logan, re-swaddling Logan because he got out of the first swaddle, de-swaddling Logan for a diaper change, re-swaddling Logan…you get the point. I was doing a lot of swaddling. This is why I love the woombie, a swaddle blanket but without the hassle of wrapping. We got a lot of use out of it in the newborn stage. The woombie prevented his startle reflex from waking him up and also prevented him from scratching his face. It was so easy to get him in and out of, which I appreciated during night changes. It has a 2way zipper so when it came time for a diaper change, I just unzipped the bottom to change him and then zipped him back up. So much easier than a regular swaddle blanket, which my little Houdini would always manage to escape out of. The woombie is made of fabric light enough for summer months without overheating, but it would also work for winter months with warmer pj’s underneath (or they also have a warmer winter woombie for sale for colder climates).
