Next up on the Father’s Day Gift Guide is the Sleeptracker Elite Watch. Mr. Crafty Nest has been raving non-stop about this watch. He goes on and on about how cool it is and how it hooks up to the computer to track your sleep and how it wakes you up so you feel rested. I asked Mr. Crafty Nest if it could feed and rock the baby back to sleep in the middle of the night or if it could get up at 6am to pump for me, so I can feel more rested. Unfortunately the watch isn’t a nanny, but want to know an awesome feature? It wakes Mr. Crafty Nest up EARLIER than usual, so he can get an early start on his honey do list of course. Apparently it wakes you up at just the right time, not letting you oversleep, so you feel rested in the morning (oh how I miss that feeling).
Mr. Crafty Nest’s Manly Opinion:
I can’t tell you how excited I was to learn that Mrs. Crafty Nest set me up with a review for the Sleeptracker Elite! Not only does the Sleeptracker Elite watch allow me to wake up with a vibrating alarm in the mornings, but it promises the ability to wake me up more refreshed. I hate waking up Mrs. Crafty Nest each morning when I go to work. I tend to get up at around 5:30am and Mrs. Crafty needs all the extra rest she can get. Baby Crafty doesn’t usually wake up until around 6:15am, so you get the point.
I highly recommend this watch for anyone, men and women alike. I’ve been using it for the past 4 nights, and I definitely feel more rested and have been able to wake up on time or a bit early for work without disturbing my mate. Here’s how it works: You set your alarm time, a wake “window”, and an alarm type of vibrate, ring, or both. I prefer the vibration only setting, as it rumbles quite nicely and hasn’t failed to wake me yet. The wake window is a an amount of time that you set before your absolute final wake time. Let me explain. Say I set a window of 30 minutes. That means that if my alarm wake time is set to 5:30am, the watch can wake me starting at 5:00am if I’m in a light phase of sleep. The watch has an accelerometer built in that monitors your movements during sleep. Based on your movements, the watch can tell when you’re in very deep sleep, REM (dream/Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, or in very light sleep. When you’re in light sleep, you have the ability to wake up more refreshed. Have you ever woken up from a deep, deep sleep and been barely able to move or talk. Yeah, I have and usually wake up like this every day! It’s not fun. This watch will attempt to wake you up within your specified wake window at the most opportune time for you.
There’s also a neat feature of hooking the watch up via a USB cable (included with the watch) to your computer to upload your sleep data! This can be helpful to monitor your sleep quality improvement, by providing data on how long you were in each phase of sleep during the night! I haven’t tried this feature yet, but I will start uploading data in a couple of days.
Waking up refreshed means a more productive day, and a happy day. Not to mention, Mrs. Crafty gets to sleep in for an extra 30 minutes.
