On the 10th day of Christmas…
I’ve always wanted to learn how to make peppermint bark and the fabulous Crystal of A Pumpkin and a Princess is going to show us how. Doesn’t it just look divine?! After you are done making a batch of peppermint bark for all of your neighbors, head on over to her blog and learn how to make a wood stocking holder. Oh and her burlap wreathis so pretty!

Hi Crafty Nest readers my name is Crystal from A Pumpkin and a Princess. On my blog I share my passion for crafting, baking, sewing, and diy projects. I’m really excited to be a part of the 12 days of Christmas. Thanks for having me, Vanessa!

Today I want to share with you my peppermint bark recipe. It’s my favorite holiday treat and so easy to make. This makes a perfect holiday gift because you can make large batches of it to give to friends and neighbors in very little time.

Materials
Semi-sweet chocolate chips

White chocolate chips

Candy canes
1-2 drops of peppermint extract (optional)

Directions
Step 1:Melt your semi-sweet chocolate chips over a double boiler.

Step 2: Pour chocolate onto a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Allow chocolate to harden. You can speed this process up by putting it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: While waiting crush candy canes in a large bag.

Step 4: Melt the white chocolate chips. If you would like to enhance the taste of peppermint in the bark now is the time to stir in the extract. Pour onto harden semi-sweet chocolate.

Step 5: Add crushed candy canes.

Step 6: You can also use cookie cutters to make the bark into fun shapes. Just repeat the process by piping the chocolate into the cookie cutter. You can gift them with the cookie cutter or simply pop the chocolate out

Step 7: If you make it on a baking sheet, remove the parchment paper and break into pieces.
Thanks for having me! I would love for you to stop by A Pumpkin and a Princess and hopefully be inspired. Happy Holidays!
