Guess who is finally going to her very first blogging conference?! Yeah, that would be ME! Fat Quarter Shop, my favorite online fabric shop, is partially sponsoring me to attend SNAP! and I can’t wait! In less than a month I’ll be in Utah, hanging with some of my favorite creative bloggers (like her, and her, and her…and a ton others). I’m also pretty excited that Queen Bee Market, a hip craft show, will be at SNAP on April 20-21!
I have to admit that I’m a bit star struck over the list of speakers that will be sharing their blogging wisdom with us! I recently had the opportunity to meet the fabulous Courtney of Pizzazzerie and I can’t wait to hear how she went from blogging to a book (a gorgeous book btw). I’ll be rooming with Christa of c. jane create, Mariah of Giggles Galore and Kelsey of Poofy Cheeks. I’m pretty sure we’re going to have a blast chatting about blogging and tweeting and pinning and crafting and photography…it’ll be heavenly!
I’m a tad nervous about the whole blogging conference thing. I mean, I technically don’t “know” anyone who will be attending but yet I feel like I know them from their blogs. The blogging world is a strange phenomenon and it’s hard to explain to someone why you would want to fly somewhere to meet a bunch of “strangers” and talk about blogging. If it is anything like my Chiquita trip, I know it’ll be amazing. I’d love some tips from you blog conference veterans!
Thanks again to my awesome sponsor, Fat Quarter Shop! If you are on the hunt for fabric, especially fabric that you can’t find just anywhere, you must check them out. I purchased sock monkey fabric for Logan’s 1st birthday from Fat Quarter Shop and they have fabulous customer service. I highly recommend them (and I’m not just saying that because they are sending me to SNAP!)
Anyone else planning on attending SNAP? Send me an email or leave a comment so I can make sure to be on the lookout for you!

Vanessa- thanks for posting about QBM! It’s going to be so much fun. The first time I went to a conference I was SO excited but also SO terrified. But it ended up being amazing. Some of my closest friends have come from blogging and conferences. It’s pretty crazy. You’re right- most people don’t get why you’d want to travel to go be with a bunch of bloggers. Their loss. 😉
My advice- get lots of sleep before! There won’t be much while you’re away. I wrote a post last year about what I’ve learned from blogging conferences: http://thirtyhandmadedays.com/2011/03/tipsforblogconferences/
Can’t wait to meet you. xo
Thanks for stopping by Mique and thanks for the blog conference tips! I look forward to meeting you in person, I feel like I already “know” you from your blog 🙂
Hi Vanessa! Stopping by from the SNAP link up! I’m so excited for SNAP and can’t wait to be among that talent! I’m super excited and nervous too and I look forward to meeting everyone. Mariah, from Giggles Galore, and I have talked a lot through email so I was excited to see she was attending AND is your roomie 🙂 Can’t wait to see you next month! Happy and safe travels!
Thanks for stopping by Abbey! I look forward to meeting you…we can be nervous together 😉
CONGRATULATIOS VANESSA. Are your feet on the ground?? Hubby must be proud?
Love the spring ideas. Keep your mind on track hahaha. Im excited for you.
Vanessa – you’re going to have a BLAST!! The blogging world really is hard to explain, but like Mique said, my blogging friends have become my closest friends now. In fact, I just met Mique for the first time in February this year and was so happy that I got to hang with her last week again. That never would have happened without the blogging world and if we hadn’t reached out to each other. My advice is to meet as many people as you can and to have fun! 🙂
We’ll see you there!!!!!! We can’t wait!!!
Good luck at the conference. It is wonderful and uplifting to be able to share time with others who share the same interests and obsessions.
Whoot Whoot! Can’t wait to ‘meet’ you!! I know we are all going to have a blast 🙂
