Oh pregnancy cravings. With my first child, I had so many food aversions – chocolate was on that list. Lo and behold, my first born hates chocolate. Blasphemy, right?! This pregnancy I can’t even tell you what I crave because I crave EVERYTHING. Just give me food, any kind of food, and this baby is a happy camper. This child takes after her father. Today, she wants chocolate chip cookies with extra chocolate. Who am I to argue with my unborn fetus? Bring on the extra chocolate, chocolate chip cookies! These are oh so yummy and the best part? I don’t have to share with my 2 1/2 year old.

Ingredients (makes approximately 20 cookies)

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 1/2 cups flour

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Soften the butter. Mix butter, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and vanilla extract together. Beat in the egg. Stir in flour and chocolate chips. Roll 2 tablespoons or more of cookie dough into round balls and place on a cookie sheet a few inches apart. Bake for approximately 10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on a cooling rack and then enjoy!
