(recipe) independence day rice cereal treat star wands

June 26, 2013 By Vanessa 3 Comments

These rice krispies treat star wands will make for the perfect patriotic treats on the 4th of July! I might have sampled a couple (you know for blog purposes) and aside from being cute, they are also yummy! They will be a big hit with the kids and who doesn’t love food on a stick?! You might also want to make some red, white and blue fruit cones for firework viewing festivities and stay tuned for a patriotic drink recipe I’ll be posting this week.

Ingredients:

Rice Krispies Cereal

Butter

Marshmallow

Skewers or Lollipop Sticks

Red & Blue Ribbon

Star Cookie Cutter

Cooking Spray

Casserole Dish

Wax Paper

Instructions:

Make rice cereal treats according to the cereal box. Press into a deep casserole dish, sprayed with cooking spray, 1 inch thick. Spray star cookie cutter with cooking spray and cut out as many stars as possible. Place stars on a piece of wax paper and insert a skewer in them. You may want to use long lollipop sticks instead of skewers for children. Tie several strands of red and blue colored ribbon around the stick. Enjoy your patriotic treat!
