If you’re in Phoenix area and looking for something fun to do with the kiddos this summer, head to The Cookie Doughjo! Huge bonus points for being a fun INDOOR activity. You know, as opposed to being outside in 120 degree Arizona heat. The Cookie Doughjo is the coolest (pun intended) hands on bakery in town. Children get the fun experience of making a batch of cookies from scratch, minus the mess for mom! Oh and they offer walk in hours, which they usually post on their Facebook page. Yup, you can totally just walk in without an appointment and get to baking! Pretty awesome when you have a tricky schedule or if you’re just looking for something last minute to do.
I recently had the pleasure of putting together a blogger event at The Cookie Doughjo. All my local blog buddies brought their kiddos and Regina, the fabulous owner, walked us through making a batch of cookies with our littles. The kiddos tied on their aprons, washed their hands and got to mix all of their ingredients together by hand. After the mixing, they got to scoop dollops of dough onto their cookie sheets and add M&M’s. There are a variety of cookies you can make at The Cookie Doughjo, but I think all of the kids enjoyed the M&M’s in their cookies! Well, most kids. Regina so kindly gave my anti-chocolate child a cup of raisins to add to his cookies. He kindly made half the cookies with M&M’s for his mom. Don’t ask me where his vendetta against chocolate came from, I personally find it ludicrous.
While the cookies were baking, the kids got to decorate the gable boxes that they used to take home their cookies in. They had a blast coloring their boxes and adding stickers to it. We also got to sip on milk and sample a slice of The Cookie Doughjo’s 12 inch GIANT cookie, which they can make for birthday parties. Speaking of birthday parties, The Cookie Doughjo offers party packages for up to 20 little chefs. How fun and EASY would it be to host your kiddo’s birthday party there?! I’m so keeping this in mind for next year, especially for my 2 little summer babies.

In addition to walk in hours and birthday parties, The Cookie Doughjo also offers baking classes. Logan and I have been attending their Around The World Class, where we get to bake a different cookie from a different part of the world each week. A couple weeks ago we learned how to make French macaroons. So much fun and Logan always looks forward to it! They recently rolled out a brand new class schedule for July that sounds like so much fun. We’ll be taking the fortune cookie class and biscotti class! Don’t forget to enter below for a chance to win 2 cooking class sessions and more!

I think my favorite cookie would have to be one that my SIL makes every Christmas. It’s a peanut butter cookie with an Andes mint inside. So delicious!
