I challenged 5 bloggers to a friendly craft challenge. They were each sent the same box of chevron stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils and asked to “Do Something Crafty”. They were allowed to use other materials, as long as they used at least 1 stencil in some way. You, my lovely readers, will have an opportunity to vote for your favorite blogger’s craft at the end of the challenge. The winner will receive a $50 gift card to Cutting Edge Stencils. Meet our first blogger, the awesome Jennifer of The Life of Jennifer Dawn. Come back on September 14th to vote for Jennifer’s craft project!

Jennifer is a wife, mommy, and former teacher who left the classroom to stay home with her three little ones. She’s an avid crafter who loves to dapple in all things creative. Through blogging she’s found a way to share her love of craftiness and spread a little happiness.

In Jennifer’s words: I’ve been working on redecorating the kids’ rooms for awhile. It’s been a slow process with me finding the time to finish projects here and there. I’m just a few steps away from having them cute and complete. The Chevron letter stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils provided the perfect inspiration for this wall art project.

After wrapping canvases with burlap, I used a stencil brush and letter stencils from Cutting Edge to dry brush fabric paint onto each canvas. I strive for crisp paint lines when I do a project like this. The quality of these stencils made that easy to accomplish. The best part is that they are reusable. I’m thinking…monogrammed pillows with these same Chevron letters for one of my next crafty endeavors.
