(edible craft) rice krispies owl treats

December 15, 2014 By Vanessa 1 Comment

These Owl Treats made out of Rice Krispies are super easy to make and tons of fun for kids! Whether you are having a camping party or looking for an after school treat idea, I’ve got the tutorial for you. You can make your own rice krispies treats or get the store bought version for a more convenient option. My 4 year old enjoyed helping me “glue” the eyes and nose on with frosting. You can make this a fun learning experience by grabbing a few books about owls at your local library and reading them together as you enjoy this treat.

MATERIALS

rice krispies treats (store bought or homemade)

small round cookie cutter

frosting

white edible eyes

banana candy (runts)

lollipop sticks

INSTRUCTIONS: Using a small round cookie cutter (or a small mason jar will also work), cute your rice krispies treats into circles. Placing a dab of icing behind the edible eyes, stick them to the rice krispies treats. Do the same for the banana nose. Stick a lollipop stick in the bottom of the treats. Enjoy!
