Happy Holiday season! I’m Ashley and I blog over at My Craftily Ever After. I love creating simple DIY projects, easy semi-homemade recipes and fun printables! I recently participated in the So You Think You’re Crafty competition and one of our challenge themes was “Gifts.” I created a really fun and simple idea for dressing up your holiday gifts. Really though, these ideas can be used anytime, year round!
I started off with a bunch of these cute treat bags. I found the smaller size at my local Walmart, the larger ones on Amazon, and I even picked up some colorful ones from Pick Your Plum. You can get them just about everywhere! I have to admit to you now though that I am a little bit of a craft supply hoarder, and so I have an entire drawer in my craft closet full of scrapbooking supplies. So I had a bunch of papers, stamps, inks, ribbons, buttons, brads, and stickers just laying around ready to get used.
I started off by finding an image of feathers that I really liked. I opened it in my Silhouette software, traced it and then cut them out in varying sizes on a variety of papers. Then came the fun part! I played around, mixing and matching until I came up with about a bagillion combinations that I loved.
I also decided to get fancy and wrap some small gifts. I used this amazing wood grain paper (that I LOVE) to wrap them, and then accented with twine, feathers, winter swag and mini ornaments. They are pretty much amazing. Well, maybe a little more than amazing.
