If you are in the Arizona area, Shamrock Farms is hosting their popular JOY TO THE HERD holiday event at the Farm on December 5th & 6th. The event includes a one-hour guided tour through a working dairy farm plus the chance to take photos with Santa, play in 15 tons of snow, make holiday crafts and more!
Shamrock Farms will also be hosting Roxie’s Itty Bitty Days for parents with kids under five on December 9th and 16th! The day includes a one-hour guided tour, holiday craft and holiday snack. Tour times are 10 am and 11:15 am. Visit the Shamrock Farms Website for more information and to request a reservation.
We’re looking forward to touring Shamrock Farms again. I took Logan, my 5 year old, to the farm a few years ago and he still talks about all the cows (over 10,000!) we saw. He’s so excited to go back! In the meantime, we used some of our favorite Shamrock Farms products to bake a batch of candy cane peppermint brownies. These brownies are so moist and so yummy, you’ll want to save this recipe!
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup Shamrock Farms Sour Cream
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
6 candy canes (crushed)
Shamrock Farms Eggnog (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Mix the butter, sugar and vanilla together until smooth.
Step 2: Add in the Shamrock Farms Sour Cream, eggs, flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Mix until smooth.
Step 3: Fold in the chocolate chips and 3 crushed candy canes.
Step 4: Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
Step 5: Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle remaining candy cane pieces over the top of the brownies.
Step 6: Allow to cool and enjoy with a bottle of Shamrock Farms Eggnog!
