Any mom with a little girl can relate to my morning hair combing struggles. If I can catch my 2 year old, cue the temper tantrum of not wanting to sit still while I try to pull her hair into something that resembles a ponytail. And if there are tangles, forget about it. Toddlers are a blast.

We recently went on a little shopping trip to Target (because that’s our happy place and go to place for hair accessories) and I let her pick out her own brush and accessories. She picked out colorful Goody Ouchless Elastics and a Goody Ouchless Girls Oval Brush, in pink of course. This brush has been life changing. I can get the tangles out quicker and without complaint. There are no tear for anyone involved.

I crafted up a few felt spring flowers to go on the elastics and allow my daughter to pick out a flower for her hair every morning. She happily allows me to put her hair up in a bun or ponytail so I can add the flower to her hair. Why didn’t I think of that before?! Hooray for no more hair in the eyes and a cute hair accessory that made it look like I spent longer than 3 minutes on her hair!

TUTORIAL

Step 1: Head to Target and get the Goody Ouchless Elastics and a Goody Ouchless Girls Oval Brush. Huge fan of these elastics, even for me, because they don’t snag or pull hair. They are comfortable enough to wear all day. Don’t forget to check the Cartwheel app for the latest Goody offers. Kids accessories will be 20% off on Cartwheel 3/6-3/19, 3/9-3/12 and 3/13-3/19. Goody hairbrushes will be 20% off on Cartwheel 3/13-3/19. Make sure to continuously check Cartwheel for future Goody offers!

Step 2: Cut a strip of felt 11 x 2 inches and fold it in half. Glue the very ends together on the long side, leaving a little pocket in the inside.

Step 3: Cut slits into the fold, as shown in the photo below. The thicker slits, the thicker petals you will get.

Step 4: Roll the strip of felt from one end to the other, adding drops of hot glue periodically to hold it together.

Step 5: Hot glue a Goody Ouchless hair tie on the back and hot glue a small piece of felt on top of the hair tie to secure it to the flower.

Step 6: Make all the colors of the rainbow, just because. Place them in plastic Easter eggs for a fun Easter basket filler!
