My little Minions are excited that Despicable Me 3 Special Edition (#1 animated comedy of the year) is now available on Blu-ray & DVD! The Target exclusive features an all-new mini-movie, Minions Moments, 20 mins of additional content, collectible cards featuring your favorite Despicable Me characters, fun Minion temporary tattoos and more. As if you needed another reason to shop at Target! It’s the perfect holiday gift idea! I had originally planned to include the Blu-ray in my daughter’s stocking, but we just couldn’t wait to watch all our favorite characters at home. We crafted up some Minions inspired chocolate bark (see the tutorial below) to enjoy while watching the film.
Illumination, the studio that brought you Sing, The Secret Life of Pets and the Despicable Me franchise, continues the adventures of Gru and his family in Despicable Me 3. After he is fired from the Anti-Villain League for failing to take down Balthazar Bratt, the latest evil mastermind to threaten humanity, Gru finds himself in the midst of a major identity crisis. But when a mysterious stranger shows up to inform Gru that he has a long-lost twin brother — a brother who desperately wishes to follow in his twin’s despicable footsteps — the former super-villain rediscovers just how good it feels to be bad. Keep on reading for a fun Despicable Me 3 inspired project!

TUTORIAL
Step 1: Melt the yellow and blue Candy Melts according to the packages. I recommend microwaving in a microwave safe dish in 30 second increments, mixing in between. Try not to over melt or the chocolate won’t be usable.
Step 2: Spread the blue chocolate on a piece of parchment paper. Move to step 3 before it hardens.
Step 3: Pour the yellow chocolate on top of the blue and then drag a straw or chopstick through both the colors to make a design. You can drag in a straight line to create a pattern like I did below. Move to step 4 before the chocolate hardens.
Step 4: Place the edible eyeballs throughout the chocolate bark. Allow to cool and completely harden (at least 30 minutes).
Step 5: Once the chocolate hardens, either break by hand or cut into pieces using a knife.
Step 6: Print out the holiday gift tags. Cut around the tags and punch a hole at the top. Use a ribbon to attach the tags to the mason jars.
Step 7: For gift giving, place chocolate bark in mason jars. Enjoy while watching the beloved Gru, his wife Lucy, their three adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes—and the Minions! This heartwarming comedy is hours of family fun!
