WHAT DOES A GIRL SCOUT DAISY DO?
My kindergarten daughter just started Girl Scouts and I’m so excited to be a co-leader for her Daisy troop! At the Daisy level in Girl Scouts, the girls earn petal patches to iron on their vests that create a big Daisy. The center of the Daisy represents the Girl Scout Promise. Each petal represents a different part of the Girl Scout Law. The Girl Scout Promise and Law include important values that the girls learn about and practice throughout their time in Girl Scouts (and hopefully beyond). Girl Scouts is so much more than camp and cookies (but those things are fun too)!
WHAT’S A FUN GIRL SCOUT DAISY FIRST MEETING IDEA?
We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the start of our troop than with a Daisy Petal Party at As You Wish Pottery Painting Place! For our Daisy pottery painting party, each girl got to paint a petal box. There are other adorable petal pottery pieces available, including a plate and mug. The As You Wish staff so kindly walked our girls through the painting process, led the girls in saying the Girl Scout Law and Promise and even gave our troop a behind the scenes tour of the kiln. Each Daisy received an As You Wish fun patch to place on the back of their vests as a fun reminder of this event. This was such a fun introduction to Girl Scouts for our Daisy troop!
