In light of the growing concern of Covid-19 spreading, many schools have shut down for at least the next couple weeks. Social distancing is encouraged and we’ve been thrusted into this quasi homeschool life in hopes that Coronavirus will not overwhelm our medical resources. Keep scrolling for a free printable quarantine responsibility chart for kids and kid friendly ideas that you can utilize during this time.

We are looking at this unexpected time in quarantine together as a gift. We’ll be slowing down and literally smelling the flowers, 6ft away from others. We’ll be posting kid friendly activities that you can do at home on our Instagram stories to help keep the little ones busy. What a great opportunity to teach children healthy coping skills during a stressful time.

Kelly Ashworth Design created this free printable quarantine responsibility chart for kids and point tracker. Keep on scrolling to the bottom for the blank free printable. It offers some semblance of a flexible routine without being overwhelming. If you are feeling anxious right now, there’s a good chance that our children are also feeling it. I love that this chart offers children something that they can control.

Have your children come up with ideas to place in the learn, clean, move and create categories. You can find some ideas in the chart above. Utilize the point tracker to track daily points. You can decided how the point system will work best in your household. I will be allotting 1 point per task, encouraging my children to pick a task from each category every day. I will be offering some sort of small prize (movie night, family game night, a LEGO set I have stashed away, etc.) at the end of the week if they have completed 4 tasks from each category every day. I’ll adapt our method if needed.

Kelly also compiled a list of resources that might be helpful during this time. I added in some of my own favorites and I’ll soon be compiling a list of my favorite creative activities to do with kids.
