We went pumpkin picking this weekend (pics coming soon) and we’re now the proud owners of 3 shiny new pumpkins. Last year I decoupaged my pumpkins and this year I wanted to do something a little different, so I felted them. That’s right people, I felted them. I was dreading the clean up of pumpkin carving. Hey, I’m a sleep deprived new mom here. I don’t have time to clean up pumpkin guts. So I came up with this super easy no-carve/no-mess solution.
You will need…
A Pumpkin
Felt
Scissors
Glue (I used hot glue but any glue would work)
Simply cut your pumpkin face out of the felt. If you aren’t that artistic (it took me a couple tries to get the perfect face), you could use one of those pumpkin carving kits as a template. Instead of cutting the pumpkin, cut the design out of the felt. Or you could even just cut out a bunch of shapes.
Next, glue the face on your pumpkin. I hot glued my face on but any glue should do the trick. The result is a totally cute and unique pumpkin (without a messy cleanup). This guy is already on my porch waiting for trick-or-treaters. Now go felt your pumpkin!
