Summertime is filled with plenty of fun, outdoor activities. One of our favorites is to visit the pick-your-own farm right down the road from our house. With peach season in full swing, the kids and I were recently able to pick a basket full of them. I used some of our peaches to make a healthy snack for my little ones. Since summertime is also filled with hot, humid days, I made peaches and cream smoothies as a refreshing treat. Sound good? Here’s the recipe…
Ingredients
2 peaches
3-4 tablespoons agave sweetener (depending on how sweet you want it to taste)
2 cups ice
5-6 ounces of vanilla yogurt (I used soy yogurt, but Greek yogurt, yogurt made with coconut milk, or regular yogurt would work too.)
5-6 ounces of milk (To give the smoothies a sweeter taste and creamier texture and to accommodate my youngest child’s milk allergy, I used vanilla almond milk. Feel free to use whatever milk you have in the refrigerator though.)
Directions
Slice the peaches and place them into a blender. Add the agave sweetener and ice. Most individual yogurt cups are between 5-6 ounces. Scoop the entire container of yogurt into the blender. Use the same cup to measure out an equal amount of milk. Place the lid on the blender and thouroughly mix the ingredients together. Pour yourself a smoothie and enjoy! Mason jars and cute paper straws add a little extra fun!
Happy summer!
