Hey friends! I’m Kirsten from Sweet Tea & Saving Grace, and I’m very happy to be here to celebrate Halloween with you! I love Halloween – the decorations, the festivities, the candy! {Seriously, those mini 3 Musketeers are so good!}
Today I want to show you a really cute Halloween craft idea that is so stinkin’ easy it’s scary! Let’s make some DIY Witch Hats!
Supplies:
* chipboard cone/tree forms in any size
* scrapbook paper
* ribbon or other decorative elements
* hot glue gun
* scrapbook glue
Let’s get started:
Start by picking out one or two patterns of scrapbook paper for your witch hat. One pattern will be the cone part of the hat, and the other will be the brim.
Use scrapbook glue to carefully roll one piece of scrapbook paper around the chipboard cone until it is completely covered. Trim if necessary.
Trim the excess paper from the bottom of the cone, leaving about an inch or so to tuck inside. (The brim will adhere better with the paper there, instead of the naked cone.)
Tuck the excess into the cone and glue it down.
Next, cut scrapbook paper for the brim. You can either find something in your home that is round and the correct size, or use a protractor. Whatever works best for you.
Use hot glue to attach the brim to the cone. You now have a witch hat!
To dress mine up a bit, I hot glued ribbon around the edge of the brim. On my larger witch hat, I added a big googly eye, too. I also pinched the top of the large witch hat to give it a bit more character.
Voila! A couple of spook-tacular witch hats perfect for any Halloween decor!
These are so simple and quick to make – you could make one for each place setting and have a Halloween party! Or make a bunch of small ones and make a garland! The possibilies are endless!
