The Baby Question

Dear friends and family and the stranger from the grocery store today,

Please refer to this blog post the next time you ask the following question:

“When are you going to have a little brother or sister for Logan?”

Mr. Crafty Nest and I are sorry to inform you that we will not be fulfilling this request anytime soon. Pending infertility issues with number 2, we might not be able to fulfill this request even if we wanted to. But make no mistake, we won’t be jumping on the 2 under 2 bandwagon anytime soon. We applaud those parents who have 2 under 2, we simply do not possess their supernatural superhero powers.

We are happy to compromise and will gladly give Logan a little brother or sister if you can 110…no, 120% guarantee me a colic free baby. A baby that does not require me to hold/wear/bounce/rock/sway them 24/7. A baby that will not give me tendinitis from said holding/wearing/bouncing/rocking/swaying. A baby that will not turn me into a crazed sleep deprived lunatic (see Mr. Crafty Nest for details). Oh and you will also need to go through morning sickness and heartburn and bruised ribs for me. And labor too…unmedicated.

We are happy as a family of 3 at the moment. We have really just started enjoying parenthood. We will eventually add a 4th member to our family but your constant reminder to do so is not necessary. In fact, it might make us want to avoid you and your questions. We will make sure that you are properly notified when we do have a little brother or sister for Logan.

Sincerely,

Vanessa and Mr. Crafty Nest
