I’m out of town, visiting my family for the holidays, so I don’t have an official weigh in weight for you guys because I’m away from my “official” scale. As of Saturday morning, I was down 1 more pound (a total weight loss of 16lbs). All I’m hoping for is to maintain while I’m here. The holidays are typically tough for weight loss, but holidays in New Mexico are a whole other ball game. A ball game full of food, food and more good food. I’m surrounded by tamales, posole, biscochitos, and empanadas. If you don’t know what those are, be grateful that you will not be gaining 15lbs this Christmas. Maintaining my weight here will be quite the miracle.
I can’t tell you how thankful I am to have the support of Nutrisystem during my weight loss journey. There are some exciting changes happening to Nutrisystem right now. They are rolling out a new SUCCESS weight loss program, designed to help take the weight off and keep it off through frequent, portion-controlled, balanced nutrition and low Glycemic Index eating. And guess who the new spokesperson is for it? Ms. Janet Jackson herself. Being an 80’s child, it’s pretty cool to know that Janet Jackson will be eating the same things that I eat and that we’re sort of going through this weight loss journey together.
I will be starting the new SUCCESS program next month, along with my new weight loss buddy Ms. Jackson, and I’ll be able to tell you more about it then. I do know that protein shakes will be part of my daily meals and that they have introduced a few new chef-inspired foods as part of the Chef’s Table Collection. I was able to recently review the Moroccan Inspired Chicken, Whole Wheat Ricotta Crepes and Citrus BBQ Pork. These are fresh-frozen meals, but they arrive in steaming pouches that seal in the nutrients and flavors. All seriously yummy, especially the crepes! I can’t wait to try the rest of their Chef’s Table Collection meals!
Nutrisystem has also recently announced the creation of NutriBank, a program dedicated to nutrition and solving hunger around the world. For every pound lost on Nutrisystem in 2012, the Company will match it with one dollar’s worth of nutritious Nutrisystem® food to be delivered through NutriBank to those in need. Talk about another great incentive to lose weight!
So, wish me luck that I don’t gain back the 16lbs that I’ve lost during the holidays! I’ll keep you posted.
