I beg to differ. The middle is not exactly a walk in the park either. I personally think it’s easy to start something, it’s the follow through part that’s tough. Here I am stuck in the middle, with 10 more pounds to go and I’m seriously slacking. Ugh.
If you couldn’t tell, I’m having a fat week, so I’m reserving the right NOT to weigh in. That’s right people, I’m not stepping on that dreaded scale this week. I already know what it’s going to say. It’s going to say that I ate too many of these and these. My workouts were actually pretty good, I made it to spinning 3 times and managed to run a few miles in between. But, working out is only 20% of the battle for me. Food is the other 80%. Tomorrow I’m going to wake up with a new attitude, a re-discovered motivation. I’m going to start my day with a Nutrisystem protein shake and stick to my meal plan. I can do this.
So, instead of wallowing in my fat jeans, let’s talk about something less depressing. Let’s talk about workout music. Here are some of my fave songs to break a sweat to:
Moves Like Jagger – Maroon 5
I Gotta Feeling – Blackeyed Peas
Hey Ya! – OutKast
Sexy And I Know It – LMFAO
We Found Love – Rihanna
What Doesn’t Kill You – Kelly Clarkson
Toxic – Britney Spears
My Humps – Black Eyed Peas
Hips Don’t Lie – Shakira
Hey, Soul Sister – Train
Too Much – Dave Matthews Band
Animal – Neon Trees
Just Dance – Lady GaGa
I could use some new tunes, what’s on your workout playlist?

Keep it up! I know that your goal is weight loss, but don’t forget that added goals will be: a healthier mama who will live longer with her son, a more fit mama who can keep up with her son at the park, extra energy at those lagging times of the day, and better sleep at night. Maybe a good goal would be to train for something, like a 5K, so the goal isn’t just “weight loss” which can get you down when you don’t see immediate results, but rather an actual, physical thing that you can finish.
Thank you for that reminder! While I would love to see the scale move, being a more healthy mama has always been my top goal. I would like to run a 5K soon, so I might just make that my focus instead of the scale. Thanks again!
I love the couch to 5k podcasts, you can ge them free on iTunes!
I didn’t realize the 5k podcasts were free on iTunes, I’ll have to check them out! Thanks! I have a C25K app on my iPhone and that’s how I lost 20lbs (along with nutrisystem). I got a little bored with it so I switched my workout up and started spinning.
I finished up my 9 weeks with C25k, and I moved on to Podrunner podcasts. They have a free app for your iPhone so you can increase or decrease the intensity of the workout on the fly which is pretty cool.

Congrats to your son! Yes, I’m trying to get rid of the baby weight and just get healthier. I set a goal of 30lbs maybe 6 months ago and I’m almost there.
Good for you ! Remember go the long way into a store, walk up staires not elevators, 8 glasses of water a day at least. Go Girl Goxxxx :I CAN < I CAN < I CAN ? YOU WILL. LOL
I’m so glad you wrote this post because I was looking for songs the other day and couldn’t come up with much that I liked. However, I do have quite a few of the same songs on my iPod. I need to kick my butt in gear too – I am trying to get in shape in time for SNAP! and the summer!!
I agree 100% about it being easy to start then finding it difficult to persevere. And my suggestion for music–none at all! If you visualize what you are doing and focus on the exercise you get better results. Really.
