at logan’s first birthday party & logan’s second birthday party
First of all, can I just be a sappy mom and tear up a little after seeing how much my baby has grown in a matter of a year? I can’t believe I’m the mother of a 2 year old! What a difference a year makes, in so many ways. I think it was the picture on the left, taken at Logan’s first birthday party, that got my butt really motivated to lose weight. It isn’t a horrible photo (it helps that the photographer is pretty awesome), but when I look at it now I see someone who was tired all.the.time, uncomfortable in her own skin and just in an emotional funk. Plus, the double chin thing I had going on really didn’t suit my face.
Thank you to Nutrisystem and C25k for entering my life! I’m 3 sizes smaller than I was a year ago. I can now keep up with Logan (except when he wakes up at the crack of dawn like he did today) and I’m so much happier. I’m still working on the comfortable in my own skin part, but I’m getting there and learning how to respect my body one meal at a time. I’m a continuous work in progress. One of my internet friends told me a couple weeks ago that if she were to see me in a store NOW that she would think “that’s someone who is healthy and takes care of herself”. THAT is the best compliment ever. It’s a lot of work to take care of your body, at least for me it is, and I’m proud of my progress so far.
Like I mentioned last week, we were visiting my family in NM and hosted Logan’s 2nd birthday party while we were there. The fact that I maintained weight while in NM (land of all things fried and smothered in cheese) AND while hosting a dessert filled birthday party is pretty amazing. I’ll take it. I’m getting back on track today. Zumba and running tonight! Logan and I have both done a lot of growing this past year…well, growing and shrinking.
